bff kari and i decided take part in that 'match your friends' thing on match.com... mostly because it's hilarious. we are agreeing that we'll go out with whoever we pick for each other, based on good things i hope. which means that i better do my diligence and find some gems for her, or else i'll end up going out with some 5'5" hairy beast that smells of dirty feet.
soooooooooo after cleaning the bajeezus out of my apartment and doing tons of laundry (love clean sheet day woooooo), i was looking at some of the profiles on there... i really don't love dating in this town. i feel forced to date online just to meet interesting men, and even then... blah.
anyway, i'm now looking at the profile of this gorgeous man who clearly works 50 hours a day and is very proud of himself... and there are some things that i'm willing to look past or just get over, unless you say something that makes my eyes bleed like this:
"You cant learn anything important from a novel. I only read the Wall Street Journal."
i TOTALLY gave him my phone number... not.

OMG! you are hilarious!
Whatever you do, don't make her mad.
Smells like feet? Ok that totally cracked me up.
do you think he was serious re that Wall Street Journal comment? because if he was being sarcastic, then he might actually be an interesting guy to meet. on the other hand, if he was being totally serious (probably, as he appears to have omitted the apostrophe from "can't" and most people who are playing a role of some sort do it meticulouslyl, grammar and all) he's obviously a total freak and could be really fun to go on a date with, just for the utter freakshow/story value of it all.
no i'm pretty sure that he's being completely serious... the entire profile has a dickishness to it that makes me want to stick hot pokers into my eyeballs.
nix on the Journal...stick with fiction. It's always got a more honest ending.
xx
A
ps- miss you too. miss...
Crossing my fingers for you! I went on match for a few days, but I got the heebie jeebies. Seattle dating is crud.
:)
thanks kimber... this isn't my first foray into online dating. i've been attempting it for a little bit now. you'd think that i'd learn my lesson by now. :)
people tend to misrepresent themselves online... but it makes for good storytelling afterwards. and i'm all about entertaining my girlfriends.
seattle wasn't as bad as new york...consider yourself lucky.
I totally met man-friend on yahoo personals.
I'm going to ignore the fact that you just used "...not!" in a sentence, and say that I think it's a FABULOUS idea to have your friend pick a man for you to try on.(So to SPEAK...tell Nina to go back to her room). I'd love to have a stab at it, actually. Finding you a man, that is.... sheesh, my mind is gutterrific right now. Love. nattie
