going hog wild...

as i sit here eating my delicious turkey and swiss sammich, i'm reminded of something. i eat like an absolute PIG when i'm by myself. i am captain manners at a dinner table when other people are around, but when it's just me.... STUFFFOODINFACE! it's ridiculous.

spent today working on some photo biz stuff, creating blog headers (updating the photo blog, people... wait for it), and organizing things at home. sold the living room tv today, that just leaves the sofa left to sell, then i'll be ready for operation slim livin.

all this rain outside is reminding me of seattle... and you know? i don't mind it at all. 60 degree sort of wet days arent so bad. at least i'm not dying in a 85 degree no air-conditioning apartment like last summer. it was horrendous.

still feeling rather 'wait and see'ish... once the last week of may gets here, and i travel to copenhagen to shoot a wedding, i'll basically be homeless and jobless. the lack of finite direction is sort of refreshing... freeing, even. somehow i've managed to lose a few pounds, and i'm feeling really positive.

all in all... not too shabby.

the making of something good...

i happen to like those salad stations where you just stand there and spout off the ingredients that you want while some rubber gloved dude flings contents into a bowl for you. here is my can't go wrong combo of awesome:

lettuce (preferably of the romaine variety)
cheddar cheese
one egg
tomatoes
cucumber
avocado
diced chicken
green peas
one scoop of ranch (if you just say ranch they throw in three scoops and it's terrible).
mix... and eat.

i know that everyone in new york is complaining about the nonstop weird rain weather we've been having (a la seattle), but frankly i love it. a lovely breeze just seems to constantly permeate. and i'm a fan of a nice breeze.

my roommate's cat has taken to my bedroom. i came home last night to find her in my closet, cuddled up with my shoe boxes. maybe she just loves shoes as much as i do. and since my roommate was out of the house last night, the cat slept on my bed. i can't even tell you how happy this makes me. i've missed having cats in the house.

ever have those mornings where your alarm goes off, and you slowly open one eye just a sliver to assess the light in the room and evaluate how badly you want to get up on time? today was totally one of those mornings where i spent many minutes searching the recesses of my mind trying to come up with some viable excuse to NOT go into work today. had someone been sleeping next to me, i absolutely would've stayed home in bed... but alas, i could come up with nothing, and here i am freezing my ASS off.

i am completely swathed in my scarf right now, and the space heater is rocking out on the floor... my shins are so warm right now. pfffffft.

icycles hanging from my nose.. if i sneeze too hard i might cut my chin with them. okay that's a slight exaggeration. obv. but it's dang cold. and i want to be curled up in bed napping.
